While competing on Hoyt's staff in 1993, Hoyt came out with its first machined recurve riser - the Radian. The grip on this bow was rather unconventional and not very comfortable. I began making grips for my own bows so I could compete with the Radian. Shortly after, I began making grips for everyone I shot with because they also had difficulty with the new Radian grip. By the end of 1994, as all bow makers turned to making machined bows, it was apparent that there was a need to be filled that would only dramatically increase. It seemed that as the quality of the bows got better, the quality of the bow grips got worse. The fact is, the grips that come on most bows are not designed by people who shoot archery. This is not the fault of the bow makers - they put all their effort, time, and money into developing the best bows they can. On a positive note however, it leaves me with the opportunity to design and produce the best possible grip for each bow that comes out every year.
The right grip can give you more points than any sight, release, stabilizer, or arrow rest out there!
Your grip is the only place you touch the bow. It has to be right.
That is what we do. |
